Purposes of the processing

Westlake Europe has a legal standing to process customers’ personal data for various reasons. The main one is that we collect and processes customers’ personal data for customer and order management (customer administration, order/delivery follow-up, invoicing, solvency follow-up, profiling and the sending of marketing and personalized advertising for which the customer has given us their consent).

Legal foundation for the processing

Personal data is processed based on Article 6.1. (b) required for the implementation of an agreement of the General Data Protection Act.

Transfer to third parties

If required to achieve the set purposes, the customers’ personal data can be shared with third parties, such as

which are linked directly or indirectly with Westlake Europe.

For service efficiency purpose, some of these providers are located in territories outside the European Economic Area that do not offer a level of data protection comparable to that of the European Union. In such cases, Westlake Europe will transfer all personal data with adequate safeguards and always keeping this data safe.

Westlake Europe guarantees that the personal data in their possession will not be sold, reused, rented or loaned to third parties.

Retention period

Personal data processed for customer management will be stored for the time necessary to satisfy legal requirements (in terms of bookkeeping, among others), with a maximum of 5 years after the last contact.

Right to inspection, improvement, deletion, limitation, objection and transferability of personal data

Westlake Europe undertakes to keep the personal data of their customers confidential and ensures them the exercise of their rights. Notwithstanding the purpose or legal basis Westlake Europe uses to process their customers data, they have the following rights:

The customer has at all times the right to access and inspect their personal data. The customer has the right to have it improved/improve it should it be incorrect or incomplete, have it removed, limit its processing and object to the processing of their personal data based on Article 6.1 (f), including profiling based on said provisions.

Furthermore, the customer is entitled to obtain a copy (in a structured, standard and mechanically readable form) of their personal data and to have said personal data forwarded to another company.

In order to exercise the aforementioned rights, the customer is requested to:

- Adjust the settings of their customer account; and/or

If a customer has given us their consent to process their data for any purpose, the customer also has the right to withdraw such consent at any time.

In addition, where the processing of your data is based on our lawful interest, the customer will also have the right to object to the processing of their data.

Direct marketing

The customer is entitled to object free of charge to the processing of any processing of their personal data aimed at direct marketing.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

Westlake Europe may amend the information contained in this Privacy Policy when it is considered to be appropriate. Should Westlake Europe do so, they will notify the customer by various procedures (for example, by sending the customer a notice by e-mail when the change in question is relevant to their privacy, for the customer to be able to review the changes, assess them and, as the case may be, object or unsubscribe from a service or functionality. In any case, we suggest the customer to review this Privacy Policy from time to time in case minor changes are made.
